Senator Casey Visits New Olympus Medical Learning Center

New modern training facility provides backdrop for discussion on healthcare reform

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., July 23, 2013 – Olympus, a precision technology leader in designing and delivering innovative Medical and Surgical solutions, among other core businesses, announced today that U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) visited its new Medical Learning Center in the Lehigh Valley. Senator Casey met with the President of Olympus’ Medical Systems Group Luke Calcraft to tour the innovative facility and discuss issues affecting the medical device industry in the context of healthcare reform.

The Medical Learning Center, a 2,875 square foot modern training facility featuring new and innovative medical technology, will be used to train Olympus employees and distributor partners from across North and South America. The new facility supports Olympus’ commitment to excellence through comprehensive training of sales, marketing, field and technical support personnel on the safe and effective use of the company’s innovative medical and surgical products that, in the hands of healthcare professionals, help people lead more fulfilling lives.

Through Olympus’ partnership with Communities in Schools, the Company will also use the new facility to provide education programs related to its current Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives as well as general career training to empower students with the educational resources to make a positive impact in their lives and future careers.
