NBI IN THE NEWS

NBI was recently added to the AUA/SUO 2016 Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer Guidelines.
NBI is recommended as enhanced cystoscopy to increase detection and decrease recurrence.

Narrow Band Imaging

The latest technology to fight bladder cancer.

Narrow Band Imaging (NBI®) is the world’s only patented endoscopic light technology that enables effective targeting of bladder tumor biopsies not seen under white light without the need for dyes or drugs.

NBI technology enables improved visualization of tumor boundaries in Non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC) patients. NBI should not be intended to replace histopathological sampling as a means of diagnosis.

Studies* have shown that NBI visualized:
  • 17% additional patients with NMIBC
  • 24% additional tumors
  • 28% additional Carcinoma in Situ (CIS)

* Based on a weighted average, studies have shown that using NBI allows physicians to visualize lesion boundaries. NBI is not intended to replace histopathological sampling as a means of diagnosis.

Patients +17% | Tumors +24% | Carcinoma in Situ (CIS) +28%

NBI works by filtering white light into specific light wavelengths that are absorbed by hemoglobin providing enhanced visualization of capillary networks and mucosal morphology.

OTV-S190: High Definition Video Processor & CLV-S190 Xenon Light Source with NBI

    Unprecedented Flexibility and Economy:

    • One tower supports all surgical specialties and a wide range of videoscopes and camera heads. The system is fully backwards compatible with all previous generation scopes and camera heads.

    Proprietary Technology:

    • Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) comes standard with the system and can enhance the visibility of vascular structures without the use of dyes, drugs, or specialized equipment. Patented Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) is 20% brighter with the Visera Elite video platform.

    Easy Integration:

    • Provides a wide range of SDTV and HDTV outputs, including HD-SDI and DVI for full 1080p video.

    Improved CLV-S190 Xenon light source:

    • Provides one-touch access to NBI and delivers brighter, more powerful imaging, reduced operating noise, and improved operability.
  • NBI Components for the O.R.
CH-S190-08-LB: HD Ultra-Lightweight Camera Head with NBI

    Light Weight and Ergonomic

    • Small, lightweight pendulum-style camera head ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the surgeons hand and reduce fatigue.

    Larger Full HD Image

    • Ideal for small diameter telescopes
    • New CCD boasts 55% more pixels than previous generation HD camera head and 150% more than the SD camera head.

    Imaging Technology

    • Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) highlights areas of increased vascularity that are normally hard to see under white light. NBI enables effective targeting of biopsies, not seen under white light.

WA2T412A: OES Elite Telescope, 4mm, 12° HD, Autoclavable

    Extra Low Dispersion (ED) Glass

    • First in the market to introduce Extra Low Dispersion (ED) Glass in rigid surgical endoscopy
    • High Definition Images appear rich in contrast due to the new extra low dispersion (ED) glass in the telescopes

    State-of-the-Art High Definition Compatible Technology

    • ED Glass demonstrates increased depth of sharpness and excellent image resolution
    • OES Elite High Definition Telescopes provide enhanced image contrast with Narrow Band Imaging (NBI).
    • Narrow Band Imaging enhances visibility of vasculature structures on the mucosal surface and studies have shown that NBI visualized 28% more Carcinoma in Situ (CIS).

CV-170: All-in-One HD Video System with LED & NBI

    Advanced Imaging

    • The CV-170 is compatible with HD Flexible Videoscopes
    • Patented NBI technology comes standard with the CV-170 which allows users to visualize lesion boundaries and enables effective targeting of biopsies without the use of dyes, drugs, or contrast agents.

    Reduced Costs

    • The CV-170’s integrated LED light source reduces cost by eliminating the need to replace expensive Xenon or Halogen light bulbs.

    Greater Efficiency

    • Compact design of the CV-170 saves valuable space
    • Backwards compatible with previous generation scopes and camera heads
  • NBI Components in the Office Setting
CYF-VH: High Definition Flexible Video Cystoscope with Narrow Band Imaging

The CYF-VH is the first flexible endoscope of its kind to provide high-definition imaging in an endoscope this small.

    Exceptional Imaging

    • The videoscope’s Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) is 20% brighter than the previous models, providing enhanced visualization of capillary networks and NMIBC.

    Improved Tip Design

    • A newly redesigned Evolution Tip incorporates smoother edges and provides an increased light output of 150% compared to previous models.

    Enhanced Control and Deflection

    • A variable stiffness shaft helps improve patient comfort and scope maneuverability, and the scope’s wide 120° field of view and improved deflection helps surgeons to see and treat all areas of the bladder with ease.
